FPI seems to be trying to turn the page on their promotion and turn into a more consistent platform for pro grappling. They have signed Mikey Musumeci to an exclusive contract and showed they will be doing 6 shows in 2025.I'm glad to see that FightPass is focusing more on grappling and starting to put money into the sport. They're kicking off this new era with FPI 9 which was headlined by Mikey Musumeci vs Felipe Machado and there were some other good names on the card as well. I'm going keep this a bit shorter since there is so much grappling going on this week and next, but I hope you enjoy the stats. Let's look at the results below.

How People Won
Anytime we get more than 30% of the matches ending in submission I'm happy. Here we got 50% of them ending by sub which was great. 10% of the matches(1 match) ended with a leg lock and 40% ended via choke. People really pulled out their front headlock attacks for this event, but you can see that below.
Stats
Overall
I think this was a successful event and I enjoyed it. I think having the first and last 2 matches end without subs made the event look worse than it was. A 50% sub rate is higher than you can expect and I don't think any of the matches were bad. We also got a wide variety of styles and we could see guard work, passing, takedowns, etc. I liked the match making FPI did and I'm looking forward to the 6 events next year. Also, thank you FPI for announcing when the events will be in the future. These events have been great and I don't want to miss out on them. Anyway, I'll have a lot more content coming out over the next week or so, so check back often.
