WNO is back and they have a really good card. We have the double ADCC champ vs the Million dollar grappler as the main event, but also some great matches to determine rankings in different divisions and even a title fight. I liked the match making here and I think the matches lived up to what they looked like on paper for the most part. Before we get into the stats though, let's look at the results.
Here we got a 55.5% submission rate for the matches here and IMO you can't ask for more than that. Leglocks and chokes lead the way, followed by armlocks. The rest of the matches ended in decision. This is what people want to see on events. I love to see the athletes go out and try to finish their opponents and that is what we got at WNO 27.
Each submission was different for this event and we got a good variety of subs. Most of these are what we see on the high percentage list and this event just reinforces why they submissions are used so often.
The double leg came out on top here followed by the single leg, mat return and slide by. I was happy to see more variety in the takedowns and just the overall increase in the level of wrestling in nogi grappling.
This event had a 33% sweep rate.
The most common pass was the half guard pass, followed by the toreando and the north-south pass. We also had a few more passes as well and there was actually a variety of passes from loose to pressure passing.
This event had a 23% pass rate.
Here we got a somewhat low action score, but a high watchability score. This event had the 2nd highest watchability score this year. There were some slower matches, but I don't think there was really a bad match on this card. I think the longer match times contributed the lower action scores. I think the watchability score is more important here and WNO 27 succeeded there and you can see that below(Check under the year to date subs). In my opinion Andrew Tackett vs Fabyury Khrysthyan was the best match, so check it out if you haven't, it will only take a second.
I think this was a great event and a good follow up from WNO 26. Honestly I don't think we're had a bad event yet this year and fingers crossed, that will continue. This was a great event for Helana Crevar, who now might be at the top of her division. Luke Griffith got the biggest win of his career and Nicky Rod not only came back from his loss to Victor Hugo, but also beat a man who had 2 wins over him. We also got another amazing match from Andrew Tackett and overall we just got a solid fun event. Hopefully this carries over to the next WNO and we don't have to wait too long for it.

Stats
This event had a 13% submission rate.
This event had a 48% takedown rate.
There weren't many sweeps here, but the most common sweep here was the sub sweep. The other sweep we saw was the bear trap, which is a bit unusual, but it obviously worked well.
The back was the number 1 position and that was followed by side control and mount. Surprisingly the 2 leglocks didn't come from 50/50 or the saddle.
