What We Learned From WNO 29

WNO is back and this time the main event is Vagner Rocha vs Kit Dale. We also have a lot of interesting matches on the main card. We have a match between Roberto Jiminez and Ryan Aitken that should determine who will get the next shot at the title and a rematch between Adele Fornarino and Jasmine Rocha. They also seem to be showcasing some new talent and due to this the card doesn't seem as talent packed as usual, but it is important to build new stars. People will complain if you use the same few grapplers over and over again, so I don't think it is fair to complain when they showcase newer lesser known grapplers. I just hope they put on a good show. Now let's see how the show turned out.

How People Won

It seems like we're getting a lot of leglocks this week. Here we had 3 leglocks and 1 choke. The rest were decisions. Over 63% of the matches ended in decision which isn't terrible, but isn't great either. I thought this was a solid event, but I don't think it will be in the running for one of the best events of the year.

Stats

Overall

I thought this was a decent event overall. I didn't think the main event would be very good, but it was better than I thought. However I would suggest not having older grapplers as the main event in the future because that is where you'll usually see the most stalling and least amount of action. As far as the matches go, none of them were terrible, which was good and most of them were exciting. I thought Gianni Grippo won his match, but at least this sets up a match between Max Hansen and Owen Jones. Adele looked amazing and made quick work of Jasmine Rocha, so I'm excited to see what she'll do at CJI. This event had a nice vibe and atmosphere and Flo seems to be getting better little by little at things such as not spoiling the matches, Hopefully they keep the WNOs coming and we don't hit a post summer grappling drought like we normally get.

Anyway, I'll be covering BJJ Stars soon, so stay tuned for that.
