This is the final week on the regular season. This will determine the winning team and who will enter the playoffs. People went all out this week to try to secure their place in the playoffs and get that team prize money.
How People Won
This week we got a 75% finish rate, which is great. Again armlocks are absent. It seems like people were allergic to them this season or something. Anyway, I'm glad that only 25% of the matches I recorded ended in submission. This was also one of the few times where leglocks actually came in higher than chokes. It should also be noted that one of those wasn't actually a real choke, but more of a weird rib crush I'd never seen before.
Stats
Overall
In the end it came down to the last couple of matches, but Team Dollamar ended up taking home the prize. This was a great season with a lot of back and forth and movement in the rankings. This week also had a high level of action and I'll try to put together the total stats for season 8 in a few weeks once the finals have finished. However it seems like there has been a good amount of action and I think the watchability score will be fairly high. People were going all out to grab a spot in the playoffs. The top 8 players will be in it which you can find below. Jett Thomson underperformed for a lot of the season, but the last couple of weeks he came roaring back to claim the number 1 spot going into the playoffs. Dominic Meija and Derek Rayfield were also able to get spots as well despite being late replacements and not having as many matches as the other people. I'm looking forward to seeing who wins, but congrats to Team Dollamar. It was also announced that the winner of Season 8 will get a spot on the next UFC BJJ card, so that is something else for them to look forward to.
I believe the finale will be on Sept 10th, so come back for that after CJI 2 finishes up.
