What We Learned From UFC BJJ 2

UFC BJJ is back with its second event and this time we have a great main event with Andrew Tackett vs Renato Canuto. We also have a title match for the light heavy-weight championship between Mason Folwer and David Garmo. The first event was very exciting, but can they continue that with this event. Let's look at the results and find out.

How People Won

75% of the matches at this event ended in submission. Chokes were the most common followed by leglocks and then armlocks. This is the usual pattern we see and it looks like even with this ruleset that still holds. 2 of the matches ended by judges decision, but even those were bad. I don't think you can ask much more from an event. Let's look at some of the stats in more depth below.

Stats

Overall

This was a really solid event with a lot of great matches. I think Andrew Tackett vs Renato Canuto was likely the best match as everyone predicted, but almost all of the matches were good. I'm happy to see that there is an attempt to build the smaller divisions with Jalen and Everton. Hopefully William Tackett can get a title match soon as well, but right now I think UFC BJJ is moving in the correct direction and putting on good matches. Hopefully that continues and their exclusive contracts don't get in the way of future great matches.
