What We Learned From WNO 31

Here is another night of champions at WNO with a couple of championships up for grabs. Unfortunately 2 good match ups were canceled. Deigo Pato vs Deandre Corbe was cancelled as well as Dante Leon vs Andy Murasaki. Hopefully they will be rescheduled, so we can see them in the future. Luckily we got some replacement matches and Chris Wojcik vs Oliver Taza is a pretty good replacement. There were a number of intriging matches, so let's look at what happened.

How People Won

This was a good event. 2/3rd of the matches ended in submission. You can't complain about that. There were a lot of exciting matches and the majority of them ended without involving the judges. There were no arm attacks, but the finishes were split half and half between leglocks and chokes.

Stats

Overall

This was a really good end to the year for WNO. There were lots of subs and tons of action. We got a new HW champ and overall this was just a really fun show. It is always nice to go out with a bang. I think all the matches were worth watching and even the matches that ended in decisions had exciting moments. I'm hoping that 2026 will have more shows of this quality.

I also saw there might be some WNO and Polaris crossover show coming next year. I think think that would be really interesting, especially now that Polaris will be on Flo. Hopefully they rebook the matches that were canceled and I'm looking forward to what WNO does next year.

The year to date stats are coming after ADCC trials, so just give me a while.
