New Hope Regeneration Wins

How People Won

Let me state here that I didn't do stats for every match. I did the first 10 matches in the 1st block and the 6 more matches. The 6 other matches were just the matches I wanted to watch. I tried to keep things fair by not looking at the results before deciding to do stats on those 6, so there shouldn't be any bias in them hopefully.

I don't know how they managed to top day 3, but they did. Today we got a 62.5% sub rate, which is the highest of the season. Of course this might just be sampling bias, but I don't think so. There really were a lot of submission and a lot of action. I think one factor was the fact that many athletes were injured and alternates had to come in. This gave some people the chance to go against some lower level opponents and these people certainly made the most of it. Another factor was just that people got used to the ruleset. I think some people need time to adjust their game and focus on the submission rather than playing their usual game. Overall, if you can only watch one day, this is the one to watch.

Stats

Overall

This was the best day by far. We got more subs than decisions and a 13.05 action score. That means that every 5 min you're seeing over 13 moves being attempted or completed. This is a great pace that can be watched and enjoyed by everyone. We also got a 23.1 Watchability score, which is the 2nd highest of the season. This was just a good solid event that had a little bit of everything.

Team New Hope Regeneration ran away with it and won easily by a far margin. At the begging of the season they were far from the favorite, but they showed they were clearly the superior team and walked away with the $100,000. Let's hope tomorrow can live up to these last 2 days. I'll be covering that as well, so be sure to check back.

Check out the other days here.
